Barson, MD, is Chief of the Section of Infectious Diseases and Director of the Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Additionally, he serves as the Chair of Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. His clinical interests include the diagnosis and management of infants, children and adolescents with infectious diseases. His research interests are primarily associated with the multi-center surveillance study of Streptococcus pneumoniae infections in children, and he is the local Principal Investigator of the U.S. Pediatric Multicenter Pneumococcal Surveillance Study Group.
