Patients are never directly admitted to any program without having first met a gastroenterologist and psychologist in our outpatient clinic who specialize in rumination syndrome. During this first visit, an extensive medical and social history will be taken. You may also be asked to eat food to help the providers understand your rumination better. Depending on patient need, they may qualify for one of three programs
Inpatient Rumination Program Intensive Outpatient Rumination Program General Outpatient Rumination Program
Insurance approval may be required for any of these programs prior to starting treatment. This process can take several weeks. Once the program has been approved, families will receive additional information or instructions needed before attending.
