Biography

Swaroop Juliana Pinto, MD, is a member of the Section of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine at Nationwide Children’s and an assistant professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She attended medical school at Sri Siddhartha Medical College in Tumkur, India. She completed her post graduate training in Pediatrics at Fr. Muller’s Medical College, Mangalore and worked as a pediatrician for the Ministry of health, Sultanate of Oman prior to her career in the United States. Her career in the United States started as a post-doctoral fellow in sleep medicine research at the Children’s hospital of Philadelphia, University of Pennsylvania. Given her interest in translation research, Dr. Pinto pursued clinical pediatrics and completed a residency in pediatrics at the Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin. Afterwards, she completed a fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburg and a fellowship in sleep medicine at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. At Nationwide Children’s she is an attending in Pulmonology and sleep medicine, as well as a member of the Cystic Fibrosis Team. Her clinical interests include sleep disordered breathing in children and adolescents Her research interests include pathophysiology of obstructive sleep apnea and cardiovascular morbidity of obstructive sleep apnea in children with sickle cell disease.
