Sophonie Jean, PhD, is assistant director of Clinical Microbiology and Immunoserology Laboratories. She completed graduate studies at Virginia Commonwealth University, post-doctoral training with the Vaginal Microbiome Consortium and post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical & Public Health Microbiology at Washington University in St. Louis. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Medical Microbiology and is active in the field of Clinical Microbiology. Dr. Jean’s clinical and research interests include development and evaluation of novel infectious disease diagnostics with emphasis on adolescents and children.
