Heather Dahlberg Schmaltz has been appointed Director of State Government Relations at Nationwide Childrens Hospital.Nationwide Childrens Vice President for External Relations Bill Byers said, I am delighted to have Heather join me in our state government endeavors. Her experience and expertise will be an asset to our efforts on behalf of the children and families we serve.Schmaltz previously served as Government Affairs Manager for Limited Brands where she was responsible for building the companys reputation with key political officials and strengthening the companys Political Action Committee. Prior to joining Limited Brands, she worked in the Washington, D.C. office of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), coordinating Federal Election Commission compliance for the NFIBs state and federal Political Action Committees. She also worked on congressional and gubernatorial campaigns in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia.A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Schmaltz graduated from Wittenberg University with a degree in East Asian Studies and a minor in Political Science. She spent a semester of undergraduate studies at Lancaster University in England and was awarded a fellowship as a Public Policy assistant with the Population Institute of Washington, D.C. She currently serves as a director on the National Board of Court Appointed Special Advocates and is a board member of Messiah Christian School in Reynoldsburg, OH.Schmaltz and her husband, Brock, are the parents of two daughters and reside in Blacklick, OH.
