Those selected for the residency program receive the following salary and benefits:

Salary Information

The following is a breakdown of resident salaries for 2018-2019:

PGY-1 $52,025.00 PGY-2 $53,592.00 PGY-3 $55,306.00 PGY-4 $57,202.00

PAID RELOCATION

        A "matched student" who moves to Columbus, Ohio from 50 miles or more to begin residency will receive up to $2,000 to assist with relocation expenses (minus applicable income tax)

PAID TIME-OFF

        21 days of vacation yearly for all 4 years. 7 days conference time yearly during PGY-2, 3,& 4. Seven Days off to Interview during PGY-3 or 4 years

HOLIDAY BREAK

        Additional time off for major holidays based on departmental holiday schedules

PAID MEDICAL LEAVE

        36 days over 4 years for personal illness, family illness, bereavement, birth of a child, adoption

PAID PARKING FEES

        Nationwide Children's Hospital & The Ohio State University

Academic Fund

Uses: Professional meetings, medical books, journals, software, professional memberships.

NCH Meals & Beverages Monthly Meal Allowance with additional “On-Call Meals”. Coffee Service in Resident Center.

OSU Parking and Meals All residents receive an OSU faculty parking pass, allowing access to parking garages adjacent to the OSU Medical Center. Meal allowances are also provided for each block.

Phone Allowance Residents are eligible for $200 (minus applicable income taxes) toward the purchase of a smartphone. Details will be provided during orientation.

Lab Coats & Scrubs 2 NCH lab coats; 2 OSU lab coats and 2 sets of scrubs for each Children’s and OSU.
