Biography

Rohan K. Henry, MD, MS, is a member of the Section of Endocrinology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Henry received his medical degree from the University of the West Indies, Kingston, Jamaica, in 2000 and went on to complete his pediatric internship/residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore followed by a pediatric endocrinology fellowship at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. During his endocrinology fellowship, he also completed a Master of Science in Epidemiology at the University of Washington’s School of Public Health. Dr. Henry is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the Sub board of Pediatric Endocrinology. His clinical interest includes growth hormone deficiency on which he has written numerous peer reviewed articles and presented nationally, disorders of the adrenal glands and Type 2 diabetes for which he is the Co-Lead of the Section’s Type 2 diabetes program. He also has a keen interest in ethics in Pediatric Endocrinology and based on this he spearheaded the development of a national ethics curriculum which was also adopted for use by the European Society of Pediatric Endocrinology (ESPE). His administrative roles include the Section’s Physician Lead for medical students’ education and the Director of Endocrine diagnostic testing, the latter a key role considering the widespread use of provocative testing in diagnosing a variety of endocrine conditions. He is a professional member of the Pediatric Endocrine Society and is actively involved in the Society’s Ethics Special Interest Group.
