Biography
Rebecca Scherzer, MD, joined Nationwide Children’s Hospital in 2002. She is a professor of pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the section chief of the Division of Allergy and Immunology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. Scherzer has devoted much of her career to medical education. She is the program director of the combined Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital Allergy and Immunology Fellowship. Dr. Scherzer is also the director of medical student education at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. In that role she helps to oversee medical students during their clinical years and mentors students who are pursuing careers in Pediatrics. Dr. Scherzer is active in many committees within Nationwide Children’s Hospital and at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She is also involved in many national societies both within the field of allergy and immunology and ones focused on medical education. Her clinical interests include treating infants, children and adolescents with allergic rhinitis, asthma and food allergy. In addition, she has a focus on treating children with primary immunodeficiency disorders.
