Rachel Ferrante, PT, DPT, is a board certified pediatric specialist who works in the outpatient physical therapy clinic serving pediatric patients with a variety of diagnoses. Rachel has a special interest and experience with children with diagnoses including Cerebral Palsy, Neonatal Stroke, Genetic Issues related to developmental delays along with Torticollis and Plagiocephaly. She has previous experience working as a physical therapist working with patients in the Early Development Follow-Up Clinic and Cardiology Clinic and is trained in performing the Generalized Movement Assessment (GMA), Test of Infant Motor Performance (TIMP) and The Hammersmith Infant Neurological Examination (HINE). Rachel is the lead research physical therapist and contact person for the DRIVE Study and has a special interest in the role of intensive and high frequency bouts of physical therapy with previous work with a similar study called ACHIEVE. Rachel is also seeing pediatric patients with concerns for pelvic floor dysfunction including but not limited to anorectal malformations, chronic constipation, and urinary and fecal soiling. Rachel has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and Ohio Physical Therapy Association since 2005 and a member of the Pediatric Section of the APTA since 2006. Rachel received her Pediatric Clinical Specialty in 2014. She is the outpatient therapy mentor in the Post-Doctoral Residency Program through a partnership with The Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

This is a randomized clinical trial for children ages 6 months to 2 years of age who demonstrate significant gross motor skill delays.
