Nationwide Children’s Hospital Simulation Program supports the hospital’s guiding principle to “Create a safe day every day.” Accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, Nationwide Children’s Simulation Program provides opportunities for various medical professionals to practice technical skills, medical judgment and collaborative teamwork. Simulation activities incorporate a variety of simulation modalities and methodologies including, state-of-the-art simulators, actual patient care environments, virtual reality, and task trainers. Typical simulation sessions place the learners in a safe and controlled learning environment where they actively participate in highly immersive, realistic and high-risk scenarios.
