Amanda Clearcreek High School will begin a partnership with Nationwide Children’s Hospital Sports Medicine this month to provide sports medicine services and health and wellness education to student athletes. As a medical student in the late 80s working toward a career in surgery, I hung around the surgery department quite a bit. Only 40% of United States (US) high schools use computerized neurocognitive tests when assessing sport-related concussions, according to researchers at Children’s Hospital Boston. This is unfortunate, as these neurocognitive assessments are capable of detecting incomplete recovery. These findings, reported by William Meehan, III, MD, of the Sports Concussion Clinic at Children’s Hospital Boston, along with R.
