Snapping hip syndrome is caused by tendons snapping over bony bumps (prominences) in the hip. One type of snapping occurs when the iliotibial band (ITB) snaps over a bony bump (greater trochanter) on the outside of the hip. This is called external snapping hip. The Intensive Pain Rehabilitation and Education Program (iPREP) at Nationwide Children’s Hospital is a multidisciplinary day-treatment program. Stroke in children costs at least $42 million annually in the United States, researchers report in Stroke: Journal of the American Heart Association.In the first cost analysis of pediatric stroke in the United States, researchers reviewed data from U.S. children age 0 to 20 who used hospital inpatient services.
