Nationwide Children’s Hospital is hosting a series of Bariatric Surgery Information Sessions to discuss weight loss surgery options available for teens to combat obesity. The number of kids aged 5 to 11 in the United States who have died by suicide in recent years has increased significantly. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the rate has increased 15% each year from 2012 to 2017, making it the eighth leading cause of death for children in this age range. Biofeedback is a therapy used to help children who cannot always have a bowel movement when they need to. Two small muscles in the anus (opening from the rectum) help to control bowel movements. The muscles are the internal and external sphincters (s FINK ters). They are normally closed to prevent stool leakage.
