On Sunday, June 10, 2012, Nationwide Children’s will host a free Community Celebration Day as part of its weekend-long grand opening events line-up. The purpose of the Neonatal Network Family Advisory Council (NNFAC), a volunteer group of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) parents and staff, is to foster vital connections between staff and families in order to help strengthen the family unit through advocacy, and empowering families to nurture and support their child’s development. Osgood-Schlatter disease is an inflammation (swelling) of the growth plate of the leg just below the knee at the tibial tubercle (the bump below the kneecap).
