One in five children is living with a mental illness. Because kids don’t wear their thoughts on their sleeves, we don’t know what they might be going through. It’s time to have an important local and national conversation about children’s mental health. It’s time to raise our voices for this important cause. Today, on World Mental Health Day, we are excited to launch On Our Sleeves, an empowering movement for children’s mental health. This effort emphasizes the need to break stigmas about mental illness in children, provides critical education and resources for families and raises vitally needed funds to accelerate mental health research discoveries that will improve how we care for children with mental illness. Join us in supporting the movement to transform children’s mental health. Show children and families battling pediatric mental illness that we’re all in. Here’s how you can help. Start a Conversation Review our icon collection and choose one that will help you start a conversation with your children or your friends and family. Each icon represents potential thoughts or feelings someone could have, using simple illustrations to symbolize complex ranges of emotions. Attend an Event Our teams will be at locations around Columbus throughout the day. You can learn more about mental health resources, sign our mobile mural and receive exclusive swag. Join us at our main campus, the Ohio Statehouse or Easton Town Center.
