Michael T. Brady, MD, Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University, as well as Physician-in-Chief of Nationwide Children’s Hospital and a member of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, has been appointed to the Chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Infectious Diseases. Brady assumed the AAP position effective July 1, 2010. The AAP Committee on Infectious Disease monitors current developments in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases and reports these to the membership with pertinent recommendations. The Committee also prepares updated editions of the “Red Book: Report of the Committee on Infectious Diseases” and develops and reviews policy recommendations on the use of vaccines.
