COLUMBUS, Ohio – Nationwide Children’s Hospital today announced a $50,000 gift from Maureen Considine Gharrity, Founding Director of Quinn’s Memorial Foundation and Erinn’s Grace Foundation both created to honor her two children, as a gift as well as philanthropic efforts. The funding will support the nationally recognized Signs of Suicide® (SOS) Prevention Program and The Mood and Anxiety Program at Nationwide Children’s. “These two programs at Nationwide Children’s Hospital work directly to assist with challenges currently seen in young adults such as mental health, suicide and anxiety,” said Considine Gharrity. “This made partnering with Nationwide Children’s such an easy decision. The ability to be involved in groundbreaking programs is an opportunity I wanted to be a part of.” Offered to schools across central and southeastern Ohio at no cost, SOS provides evidence-based prevention tools that raise awareness of suicide, teach students about risk factors for depression and suicide and provide students with ways to access support. Experts at Nationwide Children’s Center for Suicide Prevention and Research in The Abigail Wexner Research Institute emphasize that suicide is preventable and trains students and educators on the ACT® message.

Dedicated to serving the needs of adolescents with a primary diagnosis of a mood or anxiety disorder, The Mood and Anxiety Program is housed in the Big Lots Behavioral Health Pavilion. Comprised of a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurses, medical assistants, counselors, social workers and psychologists, the gift will help develop innovative treatments for mood and anxiety disorders. She works directly with business owners, and executives to help them grow their wealth, improve their health and be in their true creativity, without working harder.
