Biography
Muhammad Khan, MD, MPH, FASGE, is a Pediatric Interventional Endoscopist, with more than 10 years of experience as a Pediatric Gastroenterologist. He has a special focus in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) in the diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic management of chronic pancreatitis, peri-pancreatic fluid collections, and other hepatopancreaticobiliary disorders. Dr. Khan is one of very few physicians in the United States who performs per-oral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) procedures for achalasia, gastro-esophageal junction outlet obstruction, pyloric stenosis, gastroparesis, and other similar motility disorders in children. He also performs advanced resection of complex polyps and lesions, including endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) procedures, as well as endoscopic full-thickness resection (EFTR). Dr. Khan received his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate of Medicine degrees from The University of Utah. He completed his residency training at Eastern Virginia Medical School, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. Khan then completed his fellowship training at Stanford University, and his advanced endoscopy fellowship at HCA Florida Largo Hospital, a GME affiliate of University of South Florida. He is a Fellow of both the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition (NASPGHAN). He serves on the Endoscopy and Procedures Committee and the Advanced Endoscopy Special Interest Group for NASPGHAN. At Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Dr. Khan serves as the Director of Interventional and Diagnostic Endoscopy, and is a key member of the Pancreas and Liver Care Center.
