Victoria Marrow, MHA Administrative Fellow, First Year Victoria attended the University of Kentucky where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. During her undergraduate studies, she worked as a patient transporter at the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital. During this time, Victoria gained a unique perspective from the patients she transported and the many different departments and channels that make up a healthcare organization. Victoria continued working at the UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital with the Staff Support Associate Office within UK Pediatrics through the Office of Patient Experience. Victoria helped organize Patient Experience improvement efforts throughout the UK Pediatric Clinics, which included opportunities to shadow Hospital staff to collaborate on new ideas to improve patient experience. While in this position, Victoria worked to earn her Master of Health Administration from the University of Kentucky. One professional opportunity that Victoria is proud of is her work with PeaceHealth, which is a healthcare organization located in Vancouver, Washington. Victoria was chosen to serve as a Summer Enrichment Program Intern through the American Hospital Association Institute for Diversity and Health Equity. During this time Victoria led an analysis of the organization’s Workplace Violence Prevention Program and provided thorough recommendations. Victoria is eager to learn more about operations, strategic planning, population health, patient experience, and eager to work on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Victoria loves spending time with her family and friends, her dog, Milo, watching college football, and eating at food trucks.

During her undergraduate studies, she worked as a community health worker and program coordinator for Mount Carmel Health System, where she discovered her passion for the administrative side of healthcare. She then went on to earn her Master of Health Administration at The Ohio State University, and during this time, became an administrative resident at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. During her residency, she had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including a business plan for the expansion of the Comprehensive Pediatric Feeding Program, a meal distribution project for patients at an ambulatory care site, and the implementation of patient satisfaction surveys for telehealth visits. During the first year of her fellowship, Ashley led a number of business plans, strategic plans, and process improvement projects. She is excited to continue developing her leadership and problem-solving skills at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. In her free time, Ashley enjoys exercising, trying new restaurants, and spending time outdoors.
