WHAT: CookingFun4Kids Presented by the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition Happy Healthy Preschoolers Program, The Junior League of Columbus Kids in the Kitchen program and Local Matters. WHEN: Saturday, April 10, 2010  9 a.m. to noon WHERE: The Stowe Baptist Center, 888 Parsons Avenue, Columbus WHO/WHY:    More than 100 children and their parents are expected to attend CookingFun4Kids to learn about healthy eating habits and fun ways to stay physically active.  Kids will have an opportunity to cook with a chef, practice stretching and warm-up exercises and learn about growing vegetables and fruit.  In addition, there will be a segment devoted to making healthy choices when shopping and a presentation on oral hygiene. The Happy Healthy Preschoolers Program is designed for parents of children ages one to six years.  The program offers free convenient one-hour workshops to help parents and caregivers incorporate better nutrition habits and physical activities into their child’s life.  Workshops are designed to be interactive, so that parents can build a support network  among other parents.
