WHAT: 3rd Annual “Rockin’ on the Run” 5K Run/Walk Saturday at Madison County Fairgrounds Benefits Nationwide Children’s Hospital WHEN: Saturday, May 19, 2012 10 a.m. – media opportunity WHERE: Madison County Fairgrounds 205 Elm St. London, OH 43140 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The third annual “Rockin’ on the Run” 5K run/walk and family day will be held Saturday at the Madison County Fairgrounds. All proceeds benefit Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Since its inception two years ago, Rockin’ on the Run has raised nearly $12,000 for pediatric brain tumor research. The 5K run/walk course starts and ends at the fairgrounds. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. in the Commercial Building with the race beginning at 10 a.m. Registration is $20 and participants can sign up the day of the race. T-shirts for participants will be available on a first come, first served basis. Children age 2 and under are free. Pets are welcome but must be on a leash. In addition to the 5K run/walk, the event also features food, family-friendly games and entertainment and a silent auction. Participants are encouraged to stick around after the run/walk as activities will continue through 2 p.m. Local recording artist Tim Omark will perform during the event.
