Biography
Maninder Singh Kalra, MD, PhD, is director of Nationwide Children’s Pediatric Sleep Disorder Center. Dr. Kalra received his undergraduate and medical education at the Punjab University, India. He completed pediatric residency training at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital at the Punjab University. Dr. Kalra trained in pediatrics at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in New Jersey. His pediatric pulmonology fellowship was completed at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Dr. Kalra also earned his MS and PhD in epidemiology at University of Cincinnati. He is certified in pediatrics, pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine. In 2009 he joined Midwest Sleep Medicine Consultants as the medical director; in 2016, he returned to academic medicine as the medical director of the sleep center at Dayton Children’s Hospital and was appointed chief of the Division of Sleep Medicine in 2018. While at Dayton Children’s, he grew the program substantially in scope and size. Dr. Kalra has published numerous articles on his work in sleep medicine. He also has experience teaching and lecturing at a regional, national and international level on a variety of pulmonary-related topics.
