Biography
Kent Williams, MD, is an attending pediatric gastroenterologist at Nationwide Children’s and the Medical Director of Endoscopy. He is also an associate professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Williams’ clinical interests involve all aspects of pediatric gastroenterology, with a special interest in GI disorders in children with autism spectrum disorders. As an investigator at the Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s and OSU, he conducts basic and translational research into the mechanisms that cause functional gastrointestinal disorders, such as abdominal pain, constipation, and reflux, in children with autism. In 2012, Dr. Williams became co-chair of the Autism Treatment Network’s gastroenterology committee, a national work group that is responsible for establishing guidelines and recommendations for treatment of GI issues in children with autism spectrum disorders.
