Biography
Jonathan Napolitano, MD, brings diverse training and experience to our physician team with dual appointments in both Sports Medicine and Orthopedics. Board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with subspecialty certification in Sports Medicine, Dr. Napolitano is uniquely prepared to care for athletes of all ages, experience levels, and physical abilities. He serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. In addition to treating athletes in our traditional musculoskeletal and concussion clinics, Dr. Napolitano is the director of the Adaptive Sports Medicine Program, an innovative clinic developed to evaluate and treat athletes with physical disabilities within our community and across the region. He is also the Director of the Amputation Clinic, a multidisciplinary clinic to serve the prosthetic and orthotic needs of children with limb deformities or loss. To further evaluate musculoskeletal injuries, Dr. Napolitano utilizes state of the art technology. He is trained in musculoskeletal ultrasound for real-time and dynamic assessment of anatomy. Dr. Napolitano is also a key physician team member of the Honda Center for Gait Analysis and Mobility Enhancement (G.A.M.E.) at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Originally from Northeast Ohio, Dr. Napolitano attended Georgetown University where he competed on the men’s crew team. He returned to Ohio for medical school at The University of Toledo prior to residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Loyola University Medical Center and Edward Hines Jr. Veterans Administration Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his training with a fellowship in Pediatric Sports Medicine here at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. Napolitano serves as the team physician for Reynoldsburg High School as well as working with many of our other community partners.
