George El-Ferzli, MD, is the Director of Innovation in the Division of Neonatology. The aim is to develop an innovation ecosystem that propels the division into the future focusing on precision medicine to provide the best care to every neonate. There is a strong interest in improving the innovation culture within the division and provide an innovative collaborative platform to all stakeholders aiming at a strong marriage between clinical work and research. There is a strong focus on developing cutting edge technology such as artificial intelligence and devices. Another aspect is to work very closely with the fellowship directorship to develop an innovative educational curriculum that focuses on leadership, critical thinking and emotional intelligence.
