The Finance and Sponsored Project Department supports grant and contract funding from the start of a search for funding through the closeout of a project. Our services start with a sophisticated automated software program to assist in the search for funding. One of our professionals will assist you with set up and establishing a link to the web-based site. Once a decision is made about a proposal submission, a Sponsored Project Officer (SPO) offers individualized support with the application process, including the budget development. Before the proposal is mailed, a SPO will review the sponsor guidelines for the proposal and assure all submission requirements are met. If a proposal is awarded, the SPO will negotiate with the Sponsor and others to assure the Principal Investigator’s award is maximized. The SPO’s are knowledgeable in federal and state regulatory requirements for proposals and awards. Their expertise is invaluable during the grant award negotiation and spending cycle of the award. The Finance division provides financial information in real time and online for the PI. Up-to-date expenditures and budget information can be viewed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, a supporting team of buyers are available to assist with any purchasing needs. We know it takes teamwork for a successful project so we look forward to working for you and with you to assure your time is spent focused on the science of your research and not administrative details.
