Biography
Emily Flowers, PhD, BCBA, COBA, is a psychologist at the Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She works within the Complex Behavior Program, supervising an intensive day treatment program that focuses on the reduction of challenging behaviors, including aggression, self-injurious behaviors, and property destruction, and an increase in adaptive behaviors, such as functional communication skills and activities of daily living. She obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in School Psychology at University of Cincinnati with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis. Previously, Dr. Flowers completed her pre-doctoral internship at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health at Children’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services and post-doctoral fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center on a neurodevelopmental pediatric inpatient unit and outpatient services. Dr. Flowers obtained her Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification in 2016. Clinical interests include the reduction of challenging behaviors, including aggression, self-injurious behaviors, and property destruction, and increasing adaptive behaviors, such as functional communication skills and activities of daily living. In addition, she values collaborating with and training parents, schools, and outside agencies in order to generalize clients’ skills across settings.
