Specific Curriculum Conferences
Weekly Inpatient Consult Review/Didactic Session:
Held weekly, typically on Thursdays One session per month is assigned as the Division Journal Club (see below) Didactic sessions by faculty Interesting cases, typically led by the fellows
Weekly ECHO Core Curriculum Didactic Conference (organized by Atlanta via web/teleconference, multiple participating programs):
Fridays from 1 to 2 p.m. Revolving two-year curriculum covering key topics in Child Abuse Pediatrics
Division Journal Club
Occurs once monthly
Each Journal Club session has a fellow assigned as the leader with a faculty mentor
The assigned fellow is responsible for the selection of the articles and is expected to lead Journal Club
Attendance at Scientific Meetings and Reimbursements
Fellows are encouraged and supported to attend one meeting per year, approved by the program director (as funding is available). Some examples include:
Ray Helfer Society Annual Meeting Pediatric Academic Societies Meetings (AAP, APA, SPR) San Diego Conference on Child Maltreatment National Shaken Baby Syndrome Conference
Discretion to attend an additional meeting in the same academic year is dependent upon conference funds available within the Division of Child and Family Advocacy/Department of Pediatrics and merit i.e. scholarly work accepted for presentation at a national meeting.
