Columbus Childrens Hospital Offers Kenpo Personal Defense Program

Columbus Childrens Hospital is offering a self-defense program Kenpo Personal Defense for children age 12-years or older. This interactive program teaches the basics of personal protection. Some of the program topics include the basics of self-defense grabs, vacation and travel personal protection, ATM streetwise and personal protection items. Parents are encouraged and welcomed to attend with their child.Instructor Greg Daniels is a security officer at Childrens Hospital. Daniels is State certified as a defensive tactics instructor, a SIFU Blackbelt-certified Chinese Kenpo instructor and a self-defense instructor for women.The following program dates remain:Saturday, June 23 DublinThursday, July 12 DublinSaturday, August 4 main campusThursday, October 18 DublinSaturday, December 7 main campus Saturday workshops are 9 a.m. noon, and Thursday workshops are 5:30-8:30 p.m. The Childrens Hospital main campus is located at 700 Childrens Dr., Columbus, Ohio 43205, and the Childrens Hospital Dublin Close To HomeSM Health Care Center medical office building is located at 5675 Venture Dr., Dublin, Ohio 43017. Cost is $20 per person or $25 for two people who sign up together. Fees include educational materials, instruction and certificates of completion. Early registration is recommended as class size is limited.
