Benjamin P. Thompson, DO, has been an attending radiologist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital since 2014 with a specialized clinical focus on fluoroscopic techniques to improve outcomes in children with colorectal developmental disorders, intestinal failure, hepatobiliary disorders and velopharyngeal dysfunction. He has benefited from a robust collaboration with colleagues in the Colorectal & Pelvic Reconstruction Center. He has championed the development of our Magnetic Resonance Elastography (MRE) program for patients with hepatic steatosis and liver fibrosis. He led the creation of a unique innovative technique in MRE to further assess regional liver stiffness and presented at the 26th Annual Society of Pediatric Radiology. He is the Co-Director of Quality Improvement and Safety for Radiology at Nationwide Children’s with a mission of providing the highest quality patient care, in the safest possible environment, in order to achieve the best possible outcome for every patient.
On a personal note, he is happily married with 3 wonderful children. He is grateful for the opportunity each day to work with fantastic people who strive together as a team to provide the best possible care to all children in central Ohio.
