Biography
Barbara Mackinaw-Koons, PhD, is a clinical child psychologist with the Child Development Center at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and clinical assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University. Dr. Koons’ clinical activities include diagnostic evaluations for Autism, psychological evaluations for more general behavioral and developmental issues, and treatment of disruptive behavior and mood and anxiety issues in children with developmental disabilities. She is also the Director of Psychology Internship training at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Prior to joining the Child Development Center, she was a faculty member in the outpatient Behavioral Health department at Nationwide Children’s and conducted routine psychological evaluations for learning issues, behavior, mood, and anxiety conditions as well as treatment for a variety of disruptive behavior disorders and internalizing conditions. She completed her internship training at Nationwide Children’s in the Child Clinical program and completed her postdoctoral fellowship in the Childhood Mood Disorders Lab at The Ohio State University.
