Physician Recognition
Medical staff leadership would like to acknowledge physicians for recently receiving positive comments from patients and families. These comments are only a brief sample of the many compliments our physicians receive regularly.
Erica F. Braswell, MD, Neonatology
“Dr. Braswell was one of our daughter’s NICU doctors, and we can’t say enough great things about her! One of the best by far! There is not enough space to write out all her amazing qualities. Being a NICU doctor truly is her calling in life. The most outstanding quality is her unbelievable bedside manner. We feel she goes above and beyond the call of duty. She was always there to help us understand, explain in detail, and just ask how we were doing, or our daughter was doing. She would sit down and take as much time as needed every single time. She would come in after rounds to see how things were going, and the list went on. We were truly blessed to have Dr. Braswell as our daughter’s doctor in one of the most critical and stressful times in her life.”
Samantha Coss, MD, PhD, PGY-3
“<Dr. Coss> was very kind and detailed. She took time to understand our needs and concerns. She asked us about our comfort with taking our daughter home. She was patient and kind throughout. She explained her concerns and listened to ours. We were very impressed with her kindness and bedside manner.”
Aarti Gaglani, MD, Pediatrics; Ihab F. Halaweish, MD, General Pediatric Surgery; Marc P. Michalsky, MD, MBA, General Pediatric Surgery; Jenny A. Yeh, CPNP-PC, Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine
“My son was in due to appendicitis. We went to Lewis Center Close To HomeSM and were a direct admit to the main hospital. At both hospitals the staff/transport, surgeon, and in between were amazing! We cannot say enough about the high-quality care over son received! Everyone we encountered was truly amazing. We are so lucky to have such great facilities!”
V. Rama Jayanthi, MD, Pediatric Urology
“We felt very confident with our provider and his knowledge. He helped us all feel very calm. His explanation helped our son calm down and feel relaxed before surgery. Every person we encountered was helpful and a joy to be around. We are pleased with the care we received and are blessed to have the staff and hospital in our community.”
Catherine Olson Jordan, MD, Ophthalmology; Devin D. Sanders, MD, Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine; Joshua C. Uffman, MD, Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine
“I had an amazing experience. I felt my daughter received the highest level of care possible. Every single staff member was kind, helpful and informative. I never felt my daughter wasn’t taken care of. I felt safe leaving her in the care of any staff member. All my questions were answered, and everything was explained thoroughly. I loved the staff. They were kind and encouraging and made me feel at peace. The anesthesiologist was outstanding! He was so kind and comforting.”
Marc S. Leder, MD, Pediatrics
“Dr. Leder was excellent! He took time to reassure my son about his injury. He explained the shoe he gave him and helped him walk up and down the hallway until my son felt comfortable walking without assistance. I was extremely grateful for the patience and understanding he extended to my son, who was very distraught and nervous about walking on his injured foot!”
Kathryn E. Nuss, MD, Pediatrics
“Dr. Nuss did an incredibly thorough evaluation of my daughter and made sure we knew and addressed what was making her sick. She ran a flu test and did an X-ray based on how my daughter described her symptoms. It seems that the pneumonia was difficult to diagnose, and she went the extra mile to make sure it wasn’t missed. The urgent care was beyond capacity on Sunday and Dr. Nuss treated her like she was the only child in the facility.”
Walter P. Samora III, MD, Orthopedics
“Dr. Samora drew us a picture and broke down the injury so that my 12- year-old completely understood. He was very caring and personable! I will always recommend him! The ortho tech was absolutely wonderful with my child! He was funny and comforting and made my son feel so at ease.”
Andrew H. Tran, MD, Cardiology
“This was truly a great experience from the time we entered to the time we left. I cannot express enough how wonderful the entire staff was to my daughter. They all took the time to explain to my two-year-old what they were doing; not just me. This helped her to feel comfortable and calm throughout the entire visit. Most people explain to the parent only when the patient is so young, but this staff valued her as a person and ensured she was comfortable and understood when they were going to be touching her. Our doctor was great and very knowledgeable. He put me at ease by explaining things in a way I could easily understand. It’s clear he has a real passion for what he does!”
Jose Vargas, MD, Pediatrics, Eastland Primary Care Center
“<Dr. Vargas> was very nice and really knows how to work with kids. He saw and knew right away what was wrong with my son. My son had been having his issue for three weeks and this doctor relieved his issue in one day of treatment. This was our first time visiting this location since we moved to the east side of Columbus. The whole experience was very pleasant. Everyone was so nice from the time we walked in, until the time we left. I’m extremely satisfied. I really like
