Biography

Since arriving at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in 2015, Dr. Oettgen has been providing primary care to children living in foster care through the Fostering Connections program. She also works in the ADHD program at the Primary Care Red clinic, helping to diagnose and manage children with ADHD in collaboration with an ADHD coach. For most of her career, Dr. Oettgen has worked primarily in community pediatrics in a variety of settings including community health centers, school clinics and a mobile team in cities such as Houston, St. Paul, Albany and Detroit. She also has worked with families pursuing international adoption and is interested in global child health. She has been an advocate for pediatric oral health and immunization delivery. Dr. Oettgen uses her more than 25 year experience as a community pediatrician in her work with the American Academy of Pediatrics as a member of the CATCH program. This grants program provides funding to community pediatricians, desiring to improve the health of children at the community level.
