Learn more about Anna P. Lillis

Biography

Anna Lillis, MD, PhD, is a pediatric interventional radiologist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She earned her medical degree and PhD in Pathology from Duke University in 2008. She completed Radiology Residency training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Pediatric Radiology Fellowship and advanced Pediatric Interventional Radiology training at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Lillis is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and Pediatric Radiology. She previously served as an Interventional Radiologist at Boston Children’s Hospital and member of the multidisciplinary Vascular Anomalies Center where she focused on the study and treatment of patients with a range of vascular anomalies including venous and lymphatic malformations, overgrowth syndromes such as Klippel-Trenaunay and CLOVES Syndrome, and congenital and acquired disorders of the lymphatic system. Both at Boston Children’s Hospital and Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Dr. Lillis has worked to develop minimally-invasive imaging and interventional approaches to patients suffering from these conditions. She led the development of the Magnetic Resonance Lymphangiography project at Boston Children’s Hospital performing pre-clinical animal studies before safely introducing this technique to patients in 2015. Since that time, she helped create a robust clinical service providing a wide range of lymphatic imaging and interventional techniques and collaborating with surgical and medical colleagues in the treatment of patients with lymphatic disorders including or traumatic lymph or chyle leak, chylothorax, chylous ascites, chylopericardium, chyluria, protein losing enteropathy and plastic bronchitis. Since coming to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Dr. Lillis has been an active member of the Hemangioma and Vascular Malformations Center, partnering with her colleagues in cardiology and hematology to bring lymphatic imaging and interventions to Nationwide Children’s. She has also undergone additional subspecialty Interventional Radiology training at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, a global referral center for the minimally-invasive treatment of patients with Aneurysmal Bone Cysts (ABCs), orbital malformations, dermoid cysts and salivary disorders such as sialorrhea.

“I enjoy partnering with patients, families and other members of their multi-disciplinary treatment teams to foster the best possible longitudinal care for patients.”
