Biography
Andy Britton, MEd, brings 20 years of experience in the area of strength and conditioning and currently serves as sports performance specialist for Nationwide Children’s Hospital at New Albany High School in Columbus, OH. Most recently, he was a member of the strength and conditioning staff for Ohio State University from 2005-2019. His primary responsibilities with the Buckeyes was the oversight and implementation of year round strength and conditioning programs for Men’s Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Tennis and Men’s Soccer. In his 14 year tenure, Andy has seen 5 National Championship teams (3 in Men’s Volleyball and 2 in Men’s Tennis), 3 individual tennis National Champions (1 Men’s Singles, 1 Men’s Doubles and 1 Women’s Doubles), 23 team conference titles and 54 All-Americans including the 2016 AVCA National Player of the Year for men’s volleyball. Prior to OSU, Andy came from Velocity Sports Performance where he served as a performance specialist. While there, he trained athletes of all levels and sports ranging from ice hockey to football in the area of speed, agility and strength development. From 2001-2004, he was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. While there, he was responsible for implementing year round programs for all 17 Division I athletic teams. Andy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and a Master’s of Education degree in Sports Administration from Belmont University. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and holds various other certifications in the area of strength and conditioning.
