Columbus Childrens Hospital is teaming up with The National Center for Adoption Law & Policy at Capital University Law School to offer Adoption Academy: Taking the Mystery Out of the Adoption Process. This program was developed with the goal to bring information together in a comprehensive and sensitive manner to help prospective parents make informed adoption choices. Adoption Academy includes three tracks a CORE Track that examines issues all prospective adoptive parents need to address; a Domestic Track for those interested in adopting children in the United States; and an International Track for those interested in adopting abroad. With support from the Ohio State Bar Foundation, Childrens Hospital is able to bring Adoption Academy to audiences outside of central Ohio for the second time. Each class will be simulcast via live video teleconference from the classrooms at Columbus Childrens to audiences at childrens hospitals in Akron, Dayton and Toledo. Audience members at these locations will even be able to participate in live discussions with the presenters and audience in Columbus. The CORE Track begins September 10 and runs on Wednesday evenings 7-9 p.m. for four weeks as follows: September 10, 17, 24 and October 1. The Domestic Track begins October 8 and runs on Wednesday evenings 7-9 p.m. for four weeks as follows: October 8, 15, 22 and 29. The International Track beings November 5 and runs on Wednesday evenings 7-9 p.m. for four weeks as follows: November 5, 12, 19 and 26.All classes are held at the Columbus Childrens Hospital Education Center, 700 Childrens Drive, Columbus, Ohio.
